Description
This piece is like a morning meditation, with the slow and peaceful pulse of the sunrise. Very gradually build to the main crescendo at bars 44 to 46, where the golden orb has risen over the horizon, the day has begun – we are awake and aware, thankful for the magic of dawn. This is technically harder to play than one might first imagine – control of the tone through good breath support over long phrases, careful attention to dynamics, and tapering phrase ends while maintaining accurate intonation – each present their own challenges.
