Description
This light jazz work won an Order of Australia songwriting award in the 1994 National songwriting competition called “The Quest”. It has since been developed as a full SATB choral work with a band accompaniment for piano, guitar, bass guitar & strings. The downloadable zip file contains individual PDF extracts for each voice and instrument, as well as master PDF score & MP3 audio, and two types of MP3 backing tracks – one with the band accompaniment, the other with just piano accompaniment. The choir work will be challenging for the singers, with plenty of syncopation, intricate harmonies & counter melodies, but the swing rhythm and the instrumental support, I have no doubt, will create a joyful uplifting musical experience. Above all, the song is about living in this ‘Lucky Country’ – Australia Simply the Best.
