‘For Magenta’ is a love story, about a special relationship, full of unexpected twists and turns, ecstatic highs and deep dark lows – but somehow the love prevails. Musically, it has a contemporary flavour, often with forceful rhythms, as well as unexpected key changes and dynamic shifts that create surprise and alertness, and at times a deep bass profile to reflect an unsettling passion that feels risky but irresistible. The melody often changes between RH & LH, so weighting is important here. Don’t rush the big arpeggiated chords – let them breathe a little, wide and open.
